Creation of iPad wallpapers
Creating your own iPad wallpaper is little different than just like creating any wallpaper. You can simply follow some of the steps illustrated here.
Device orientation is the real factor that you should consider while creating the wallpaper. Like when you are holding the iPad in portrait orientation it should be 1024 pixels tall and 768 pixels wide, whereas in landscape orientation this should be 768 pixels tall and 1024 pixels wide. You have to then create a square box image of 1024×1024. This does not depend on the iPad’s orientation.
Then just crop this image so that most of the central part lies in the area 768×768. Just save this image at 132 dpi and save your wallpaper for using on the screen of your iPad.
However, there are a lot of free apps to create your iPad wallpapers, as for example the one shown in this video:
